Don't waste food! Ramadan Without Waste campaign kicks off
Apr 30, 2019
With the fasting month about to begin, the government is starting an awareness drive to tackle the massive amount of food Malaysians waste everyday.
De-facto Religion Minister Datuk Seri Dr Mujahid Yusof Rawa said we dump 15,000 tonnes of food per day, a lot of it perfectly edible.
He hopes the Ramadan Without Waste Campaign will help bring people to their senses, as wasting tremendous amounts of food affects the environment.
The amount of food wasted during Ramadan goes up by 20%.

Public housing to be inspected every five years
All public housing will be inspected every five years, especially if it's located on a hillside.
The Housing and Local Government Ministry says this is under the new National Housing Policy, formulated to ensure the safety of residents.
It's also working with state governments to find out how many flats are older than 30 years, which may require redevelopment.
Minister Zuraida Kamaruddin believes most flats in Ampang are around 29-years-old, just like the Taman Keramat Permai flats, which began to crack recently.

Two Malaysians making waves in Australia for the wrong reasons
A Malaysian man working as a doctor in Victoria has been suspended and is being investigated by the police for repeatedly calling for women to be raped.
He also threatened violence against his wife, posted revenge porn and shared photos of private medical procedures online.
Another Malaysian, a woman, has been charged for blackmailing a grieving couple.
They lost their baby girl to illness and accidentally dropped the only phone that contained her pictures.
The Malaysian woman took advantage and demanded for 1,000 Australian dollars to return the phone, which it turns out she didn't have in the first place.
