Public universities may restructure their enrolment!
This is due to concerns that STPM students' entry into public unis, may be affected by the Cabinet's decision to increase admission to matriculation programmes.
According to Chinese media, Dr Maszlee Malik says the government will decide on the exact number of admissions to public uni next year.
Last week, the Cabinet allowed the number of students entering matriculation programs to be increased to 40,000 from the previous 25,000.
The 90% quota for bumiputras will remain.
High Court rejects Najib's application to strike out charges linked to SRC International

The KL High Court has dismissed Datuk Seri Najib Razak’s bid to strike out 7 charges he's facing in connection to SRC International.
The former PM's legal team had said the charges are vague and he's unable to put up a credible defence.
However, the court denied the application, saying there are no defects in the charges.
Today is the 10th day of Najib's criminal trial.

Over 18 thousand people have benefitted from Socso's safety net for retrenched workers, that came into effect in January 2018.
The HR Ministry says it doesn't plan to increase the employers’ and employees’ contribution rate for the Employment Insurance Scheme.
Under the scheme, the employer and employee each contribute 0.2 % of the employee’s salary - one of the lowest rates in the world.
