Christchurch Death Toll Rises

The death toll from the Christchurch terror attack has risen to 50, after police found the body of another victim.

It comes as New Zealand authorities continue their efforts to formally identify the victims, and inform their families.

As of yesterday, a 17 year old Malaysian is still unaccounted for following the attack.

Three other injured Malaysians, meanwhile, are now in stable condition.

The Foreign Ministry says there's no need at the moment to bring home all Malaysians in Christchurch, as the situation there is under control.

Meanwhile, New Zealand authorities there believe the attacker acted alone.

They say for now, they suspect that the three other individuals who were arrested in the wake of the shooting, were not involved.

No Long-term Threat From Sg Kim Kim Pollution

143 people remain admitted in hospital, after being exposed to the chemical pollution in Sungai Kim Kim, Pasir Gudang.

It comes as the Health Ministry said that those who've been exposed to the pollutants are unlikely to face long-term chronic effects to their health.

This is because the level of toxicity in the chemicals is low.

Meanwhile, the Fire Department assures it has enough members from the Hazmat team to handle the chemical dump.

It says currently eight teams are on the ground - being assisted by personnel from other agencies - although their numbers can be increased if the need arises.

So far, 1.5km of the river has been cleaned up.
