Stay ahead of the traffic this Thaipusam!

Jan 18, 2019

It’s Thaipusam weekend…

So you can definitely expect KL to be more congested than usual, as 1.5 million Hindu pilgrims and tourists from all around the region are expected to participate in this year’s festivities at Batu Caves.

You’re probably thinking of excuses (traffic jams) not to go, right?

Fret not!

We want to help you convene at the sacred site in a safe and timely manner…

#1 Waze’s prediction for the best and the worst times to drive in KL

If you’re looking to avoid heavy traffic on your way to KL, here are your best bets on what time to head out:

On Sunday, January 20th, you wouldn’t want to be driving between 10am and 11am. It’ll be better at night from 7pm to 11pm.

Now Monday, January 21st, is the main day of celebrations. So it’s best not to head out between 4am and 5am. There’ll be less people out at night between 8pm and 9pm.

#2 Plan your drive for Thaipusam

Wazers can also stay ahead of traffic by using the Planned Drive function to notify them when to leave, in order to reach Batu Caves, or any destination, on time. Planned Drive can also sync with your phone’s calendar to help coordinate your day STRESS-FREE!

#3 Stay alert with live updates!

While you’re on the road, Waze can help you with directions, live traffic reports and alerts about car accidents, road conditions, and even hazards. You may also find new and faster routes with the help of the app. Turn on the navigational voice so you can stay alert when you drive.

Remember; don’t use your phone while driving! If you’re using Waze, make sure you get a passenger to direct you, or if you’re driving alone, get a phone stand for your car.

There you have it! Now you can get to KL safe and on time this Thaipusam.

EYES ON THE ROAD!

Have a blessed Thaipusam!
