Penang could be a smoke free island in 5 years!
However, the state exco member who announced the proposed cigarette ban conceded there will be many hurdles with implementation.

As it stands, 6 public recreational parks on the island and the Georgetown World Heritage Site are no smoking areas.

Separately, a man in Penang died after he was crushed by a tree branch while riding his motorcycle home.
His 3-year-old daughter who was on the bike with him suffered multiple injuries.
